Robert Fitzgerald AM
Robert Fitzgerald AM was a Commissioner on the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Robert was formerly a Commissioner with the Productivity Commission, and the inaugural Chair of the Advisory Board for the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. He is currently the NSW Ageing and Disability Commissioner.
Robert has served on numerous non-government organisation boards, including previously as President of the Australian Council of Social Service and New South Wales State President of the St Vincent de Paul Society. He is currently a member of the board of Emerging Futures Collaborative Limited, an initiative of Catholic Religious Australia, and Chair of Caritas Australia.
Robert was educated by the Christian Brothers, Sisters of St Joseph and Sisters of Mercy, and holds degrees in commerce and law from UNSW, and an honorary doctorate from Australian Catholic University. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with The University of Western Australia and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1994.
